Terry D. Hildestad, president and chief executive officer for MDU Resources Group, Inc., announced today that David L. Goodin has been named president of Cascade Natural Gas Corp.
Goodin replaces David Stevens at Cascade and will relocate to the Seattle area. Goodin, who joined the company in 1983, was most recently executive vice president of operations and acquisitions at Montana-Dakota. He started his career with Montana-Dakota as division electrical engineer in Dickinson, transferred to Glendive as division electrical engineer and served as electric superintendent in Williston. Goodin moved to Bismarck in 1993 as electric systems supervisor, was promoted to electric system manager in 1999 and to vice president of operations in 2000.
Goodin is chairman of the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Missouri Valley Family YMCA in Bismarck. He has an undergraduate degree in electrical and electronics engineering from North Dakota State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota, and also completed the Harvard Advanced Management Program in 2006. He is also a registered professional engineer. Goodin and his wife, Pat, have three daughters.
Hildestad also announced that Bruce T. Imsdahl, president and CEO of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. and Great Plains Natural Gas Co., will assume additional duties as CEO of Cascade Natural Gas Co.
MDU Resources Group announced on July 2 that it finalized the acquisition of Cascade. Cascade joins Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. and Great Plains Natural Gas Co. as a third utility business within MDU Resources. Montana-Dakota and Great Plains serve more than 250,000 natural gas customers and 120,000 electric customers in five Upper Midwest states. Cascade serves 246,000 customers in 93 communities – 65 of which are in Washington and 28 in Oregon. Cascade’s service areas are concentrated in western and south central Washington and south central and eastern Oregon.
