Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Company and Bitter Creek Pipelines, LLC have initiated several practices that reduce the possibility of pollution at its pipeline compressor stations. The companies have eliminated the use of unlined evaporation ponds. Where evaporation ponds are still used, they are lined. If there is a possibility of oil reaching these ponds, they are covered with netting to protect waterfowl.
