 Fidelity Exploration & Production Company, in June 2004, received a Fluid Minerals Award for Community Outreach and Economic Security from the Bureau of Land Management. The award recognizes the benefits of mineral development with an emphasis on coordination with local and regional stakeholders and rewards projects that enhance the local community's quality of life and long-term health.
Fidelity E&P received the award for its coalbed natural gas operation in the Powder River Basin of eastern Montana and Wyoming. The BLM said Fidelity E&P "makes working with landowners a priority" and that the "company protects sensitive wildlife habitat, addresses noise and dust impacts, and maintains local water quality levels."
